Expired Women in the Fire Service – Training Opportunity – July 10th, 2024

Fire Service Metering Training- This program reviews the proper use of multi-gas meters and radiological meters.  An explanation of the gases monitored, and their respective dangerous levels is explained. Other technical subjects discussed are sensor relative response, cross sensitivities, lag times, reading ranges, alarm set points, calibration, and bump test. Radiological basics will introduce participants to the fundamentals of radiation and radiation monitoring.

Hands on activities utilizing these meters will be conducted.  Students should bring PPE and SCBA to the training.

Class size will be limited to allow all participants the opportunity to work with the meters.
