The Suffolk County Fire Academy will be hosting a Technical Rescue Training Day on Saturday, May 11th, 8am at the Fire Academy. The event will be geared toward current members of the town technical rescue teams throughout the County as well as members of the County’s Urban Search and Rescue Team. Evolutions will be developed which will involve the four major technical rescue disciplines; rope, confined space, collapse, and trench. There are no pre-requisites to attend the training, as we want to encourage members involved with these teams in a support role or who have an interest in taking the training in the future, to participate. However, only members with operations or technician level training will be permitted as entrants during the evolutions.
Please complete the registration process to enroll in the Technical Rescue Training Day. Once you receive email confirmation of your enrollment, visit the Suffolk County Fire Academy website Downloads page to download the Training Authorization Form for this event (located under “Technical Rescue Programs”). The Training Authorization Form must be completed and signed by a Chief Officer of your sponsoring department. This form must be submitted before or on the day of training. You will not be permitted to participate without a completed Training Authorization Form.
Please contact Assistant Chief Andrew Dinkel at adinkel@scfa-li.org with any questions you may have.
